Discovering Villages 2

Status: Active, open to new members
Group Leader:
When: Monthly on Wednesday mornings 10:00
3rd Wednesday of the month

An enjoyable way of getting to know some of the lovely villages within easy reach of the City.

We drive to the chosen village independently. The researchers for the day will give a presentation for thirty minutes on the village history, important buildings, past residents, the trade and business of the village and will have planned the route for the walk around the village. They will have surveyed the village at least once and sampled the lunch at the local pub.

In summer we may walk up to three miles along country lanes and across fields at a good pace.

Every member will be expected to research a village visit once a year. Singles can team up with another member. Most people come on every visit. Information is obtained from Bristol Central Library and the internet.
