Discussing Democracy

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: Fortnightly on Tuesdays 10:30 am-12:30 pm
Venue: St Peters Church Hall (Henleaze)

This is a group where we consider and discuss aspects of democracy.

We begin with a general discussion around anything topical which is linked to democracy issues and then move on to a substantive topic introduced by different members, although there is no obligation for any member to lead.

We interpret the subject fairly widely but conversation is loosely linked to democracy as a system. Recent topics have included The rule of law and democracy and Is democracy under threat? We are not specifically a political discussion group and take an international perspective rather than a UK focus at times. We always respect each other's opinions.
