We meet in Horfield, near the sports centre. Buses 505, 10, 17, 75, 76, and 24 stop nearby. An alternative venue is at the nearby pub if the usual venue is unavailable.
It is a friendly group where we discuss the latest sources of information to become available, and share tips and techniques, successes and stumbling blocks.
There is access to Wi-Fi and a computer. Group members bring along ideas or objects to show and discuss.
It is not a course – members’ interests and experience are too diverse for that. Sometimes we agree a theme to pursue for part of several meetings. We have books to borrow and magazines to share. At present the group is not really suitable for complete beginners, but 1 to 1 tuition can be offered on how to get started.
This map and chart represent the group members' individual research results for their earliest documented ancestor.
