Comedy Group - Mike Frost hopes to start a group that will look at comedy in films, TV, books etc. The aim is not to just sit around talking about comedy, but to participate in re-enactment of classic scenes and try our hand at new things, perhaps using AI to create some new scenes for characters. The format is flexible, depending on what the members favour – we’ll aim for an initial five meetings and see how it goes.

Virginia Woolf - This group plans to start on 26th January, and will explore the work of Virginia Woolf through novels, short stories, essays, diaries and letters. The meetings will take place on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Holiday Inn Filton from 1.30-3.30pm.

Cricket Spectators Group - Love cricket and good company? Over winter, we plan to meet every six to eight weeks for friendly gatherings, cricket chat, the occasional televised match, and planning for next season's Gloucestershire matches.

Singing Sea Shanties - Given Bristol's sea-faring heritage, a group that sings sea shanties should be popular. The aim is for a planning meeting at the end of September and the group to start in October 2026.

Textile and Things - This group is just about loving the feel of textiles in our hands and being creative. Whether it's quilting, sewing, embroidery, knitting, felts etc. No matter what level of skill, we can all make something, share our ideas and support each other with our work. We are aiming to meet in either Stockwood or Whitchurch and are looking for one or two members to lead the group.
