Renew Membership

If you haven't already done so you will need to set up an account on the Members Portal in order to access your membership details and renew your membership. When you use the link above for the first time you will be asked for your membership number, first name, last name, postcode and email address as well as to create a password.

Here are some step-by-step instructions to help you set up your account. If you have forgotten your membership number, just message Bob Slader and he will send you a reminder.

Subsequently, when you log into the Members Portal you can renew your membership or update your contact details with just your email address and password. If you need any help when renewing online, you may find these step-by-step instructions useful.

Joint members may renew online only if they are remaining as joint members. If not, please renew by post.

The Bristol u3a payment page is hosted by Paypal, but this does not make any difference to you as a member - you can pay using a debit or credit card by choosing to “Check out as a Guest”. You will find this option at the bottom of the page.

PayPal will not open a PayPal account for you when you use your credit or debit card. However, they will retain the information you provide in accordance with their Privacy Policy which enables them to monitor the use of PayPal for risk management purposes.

After renewing, you will receive a confirmation from the Bristol u3a PayPal account that your payment has been processed successfully.

You will also receive an email from Bristol u3a with your membership card attached. You may be asked to show it at meetings – you can either show the card on your smartphone or print a copy. If this email does not come within a few minutes, let us know.

Complete the application form, then post it with your cheque to the Membership Secretary, whose address is on the form. Your membership card will be emailed to you. If you don't have an email address and would like your membership card posted to you please include a stamped addressed envelope.

If you are a UK taxpayer, and pay more income tax and/or capital gains tax than the amount of gift aid claimed on all your donations in one tax year, Bristol u3a can reclaim tax equal to 1/4 of your subscription at no cost to you.

It is necessary to tick the box every year in order to assure HMRC you are still alive! For joint membership, where only one of you is eligible for gift aid, please put that person's name first.

Only complete the section on gift aid if you are happy for the data to be transferred to HMRC electronically.

If one of you is eligible for gift aid, please renew using that member's details. Please read the gift aid requirement above.
