Sue Winters is undertaking a PhD exploring how coercive control affects women born in the 1950s across multiple settings—including intimate relationships, groups, institutions, and government. Her talk is grounded in both academic research and in lived experience, as a victim-survivor of domestic abuse, involvement in a religious cult and workplace coercion. Some of the themes discussed may be upsetting.
