Martin Firth will entertain us with his talk called "Yule not believe this: Music in the Festive period, where sacred and profane meet down a dark alley!" This will be a light hearted session where we delve into the historical nooks and crannies of the music we associate with the Festive Season. What's a Wassail? What's the connexion between a dead cow and Bethlehem? Is 'The First Nowell' really what it seems, and what's with Dobbin and his right eye? And Bristol lays claim to perhaps the most popular Christmas music ever written.
