A social group designed to build a "u3a community" in NW Bristol (members from BS16 who live West of the M32 plus all members in BS34 and BS32). Our members live in Stoke Gifford, Harry Stoke, Little Stoke, Bradley Stoke, Patchway, (parts of) Filton and Cheswick Village (near UWE Frenchay campus). Members from elsewhere are welcome to join in.
In most months we have one coffee meetup, either at the Beaufort Arms in Stoke Gifford or other venues suggested by our members, to socialise and discuss ideas for future events. Previous ones have included guided tours of St Michael’s' church, 10 pin bowling at Cribbs, Frenchay Museum and an evening talk at Aerospace Bristol. We have enjoyed vegetarian lunches, pub quizzes - and a boat trip from Harbourside towards Hanham despite heavy rain all day. The highlight has been a behind-the-scenes tour of Bristol Beacon.
We may also spawn new groups as members discover shared interests.
